About Our Organization

In 1981, Elizabeth Glaser was infected with the AIDS virus through a blood transfusion. Elizabeth and her husband, Paul Glaser, later learned that Elizabeth had unknowingly passed the virus onto their daughter, Ariel, through breast milk and subsequently to their son, Jake, in utero.

After Ariel lost her battle against AIDS in 1988, Elizabeth and her two close friends, Susie Zeegen and Susan DeLaurentis, created a foundation with a simple but critical mission: to bring hope to children with AIDS.

The Foundation that started as three mothers working around a kitchen table has now become a major player in the fight against AIDS both in the United States and around the globe. Since its inception, the Foundation has placed a high priority on funding HIV/AIDS research, the cornerstone of its mission. Building on its success in research, the Foundation has expanded its reach and is working around the world to substantially reduce the rate of new infant infections and provide access to HIV/AIDS care and treatment for children and families.
